Melbourne startup says three-bedroom houses can be built in under a week

Housing Industry Association is now working with the federal government to tweak the code – to encompass new methods including 3D printed concrete walls.

Housing construction has been at near-record levels since the HomeBuilder scheme was introduced a year ago but Australia’s strict building regulations and standards mean innovative new building techniques are being overlooked.

Melbourne startup Luyten designed a robot which can 3D print concrete, with structured designed on a computer. Luyten CEO Ahmed Mahil said it wouldn’t take more than a week to build a house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
